Knock backs perpetuate drive

Ten years ago my dream was to live in and own my own home but I was knocked back by the banks for a housing loan because I was asset poor, not enough income and for being a sole parent. But I wouldn't give up! I now own 15 homes.
Five years ago, I wasn't able to get a welfare organisation or government body to help me promote an  education package for at risk, homeless or disadvantaged clientele teaching ways out of the poverty cycle and on how to build an indepedendent financial future. I was told I was 'giving false hope!' and 'there's some people in the world you just can't help.' Nevertheless, I wrote and published my own simple to read handbook and utilised it in my work. The success stories of my clients reached further afield and the book grew in demand. The handbook is now purchased in bulk by community organisations, libraries and universities as well as being sold commercially.
Three years ago, I tried to get a publisher in Australia, but again I was knocked back, again and again. I was told... 'Poor people don't usually buy books,'.....and the one I like the most... 'People on welfare don't really want to get off so the book wouldn't sell!'
Since 2006, 'Goodbye Welfare' the book, has gone into its 5th reprint and now sells worldwide, including a US version. I still don't have an Australian publisher but I have one elsewhere.
It just goes to show that there's always someone who will want to hold you back but ...........Don't let them!
If you trully believe in what you're doing you must go for it regardless of what others may think or say.
After all....this is your life and you only have one shot at it.
